Coburn Technologies Partners With VeroCore for Product Distribution Across U.K. and Western Europe

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn.—Coburn Technologies, a global leader in ophthalmic lens processing systems and solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with U.K.-based VeroCore Business Solutions Ltd. for the sale and distribution of its products in the U.K. and Western European markets. Under this agreement, effective June 29, 2026, VeroCore will distribute Coburn’s consumables and coatings, the company advised, with inventory centrally stocked in the U.K. VeroCore will also represent Coburn’s surfacing equipment lines, while Coburn will continue the direct sale of spare parts and provide local field service and technical support in those markets.

The company also advised that following this transition, David Short, Coburn Technologies’ European commercial manager, will move into full retirement from Coburn Technologies as of July 31, 2026.

“We are committed to providing our customers in the U.K. and Western European markets with seamless access to our broad range of consumables, spare parts, and equipment,” said Alex Incera, president of Coburn Technologies. “Through our partnership with VeroCore, we are confident that customers across the U.K. and Western Europe will continue to receive the same high level of service, availability, and product quality they expect from Coburn.”

In making the announcement, Coburn pointed to VeroCore’s experience in supply chain management as well as its partnership with a network of manufacturers specializing in high-quality equipment and chemical solutions for the ophthalmic industry. As part of this collaboration, customers can expect uninterrupted service and product availability, fulfillment of existing orders and contractual agreements through Coburn, and enhanced regional support with local stockholding and dedicated service resources, the company advised.

From June 29, 2026, onward all new orders for consumables and coatings should be directed to VeroCore, while new orders for spare parts of requests for field service or technical support should continue to be directed to Coburn.

“This partnership ensures continued access to premium products backed by reliable service and support,” the announcement stated. “Coburn Technologies remains dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining strong relationships with its customers and partners during this change. Customers with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact VeroCore directly or their usual Coburn Technologies representative for assistance.”

A wholly owned subsidiary of Irvine, Calif.-based SDC Technologies, Coburn designs, manufactures, and services software equipment and supplies used in all aspects of surfacing prescriptions in lens blanks, coating and finishing lenses to fit into patient frames. They also provide a range of diagnostic, refraction, and retinal imaging equipment. In April 2026, Coburn announced key leadership changes across several departments.

SDC Technologies was acquired by Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. in 2008.
