DUNFERMLINE, U.K.—Optos PLC, a leader in retinal imaging technology, announced it has achieved the global milestone of 30,000 devices installed worldwide. For more than 30 years, “Optos has played a critical role in progressing retinal imaging and supporting improved patient care worldwide,” the company stated. As part of this milestone, Optos also recognized Radiance Eye Care, as its 30,000th customer. “When clinicians can see more of the retina, they are better equipped to detect and monitor systemic and ocular disease,” said Alexandre Montague, chief executive officer of Optos, who was appointed to his position earlier this month.
“Practices like Radiance Eye Care demonstrate what’s possible when innovation is paired with a deep commitment to patient outcomes,” he added. “It’s not just about improving vision, it’s about protecting health, saving sight, and in many cases, saving lives.”
With 10 imaging modalities already available across its platforms, Optos, a leading provider of 200-degree, single-capture, ultra-widefield (UWF) retinal imaging systems, said it continues to expand its capabilities. Designed to integrate across multiple care settings, in telehealth, optometry, ophthalmology, retina specialty practices and large multi-site health centers, Optos technology supports efficient workflows while maintaining high standards of diagnostic quality, the announcement advised.
