CEO and Co-founder Sandra Hirsch
Sandra Hirsch is president, CEO, and co-founder of Zyris, formerly Isolite Systems. She co-founded the company in 2001 alongside her husband Jim, an industrial designer, and her brother-in-law Tom, a practicing dentist. Her background was in financial management and accounting, with a B.S. in Business Administration from USC. But her deeper interest was always entrepreneurship, and building Zyris gave her the chance to put both together.
The idea was straightforward from the start, create tools that make dentistry better for clinicians and patients. Under Sandra’s leadership, that idea grew into a full product line trusted by dental practices in over 20 countries. The Isolite system combines intraoral illumination and isolation into a single device, with options covering both posterior and anterior access so clinicians can work confidently across the entire mouth. The Zyris product line includes the HOOPLA dental retractor, giving practices a simple, effective tool for soft tissue management. Zyris products are used in dental schools, military facilities, private practices and group practices worldwide. The U.S. Air Force rated the Isolite system “Excellent” for use in its dental facilities.

Sandra’s reach extends outside the company as well. She served as Chair of the Dental Trade Alliance, where she helped shape policy for the broader dental products industry. In 2016, she was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the South Coast Business and Technology Awards.
The Isolite’s mouthpieces incorporate integrated bite blocks and airway protection, substantially enhancing patient safety and reducing the risk of aspiration.
More than 2 decades in, her focus hasn’t shifted. Better tools. Better outcomes. Better care for patients and the clinicians who treat them.
The Isolite system is an all-in-one solution for efficient dentistry. From visibility to moisture control and patient compliance, every feature is designed to help clinicians do better dentistry, in less time. Isolite can help save time, increase productivity and improve patient outcomes.
