ROCHESTER, N.Y.—CooperVision, a division of CooperCompanies (Nasdaq:COO) and a leading manufacturer of contact lenses, has announced the promotion of Jennifer Palombi, OD, FAAO, to director of professional affairs, Americas, and Felicia Timmermann, OD, MS, FAAO, to senior advisor, myopia management, U.S. Both appointments are effective immediately and reflect what the company noted is a “continued investment in its professional affairs organization and…focus on providing practitioners with innovative products, clinical education, insights and resources to meet the needs of their patients.”

As director of professional affairs, Americas, Dr. Palombi is responsible for the function’s strategy across the region, unifying activities across CooperVision’s product portfolio, including professional education and development, industry relations, legislative advocacy, key customer engagement, and academic affairs, the company stated. Since joining CooperVision in 2017, she has developed a strong record of leadership in clinical education and communication. Prior to her time with the company, Dr. Palombi was in practice for 20 years in a variety of settings, including corporate, hospital-based, private, and collaborative optometry-ophthalmology practices, while also serving as a freelance medical writer. Dr. Palombi was a Vision Monday 2020 Most Influential Women in Optical honoree.

Dr. Timmermann has devoted much of her career to advocating for myopia management and pediatric health. After earning her doctor of optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry, she completed a specialized residency training in pediatric optometry at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Prior to joining CooperVision in 2022, Dr. Timmermann held leadership roles in academia, including establishing and directing Nova Southeastern University’s myopia management service. She previously held the title of senior manager, professional affairs, at CooperVision, and was a Vision Monday 2024 Most Influential Women in Optical honoree.
In her new role, she will play a critical part in shaping and advancing CooperVision’s myopia management strategy across the U.S., the company advised.
