Canopius Appoints Moore US CEO
Nadine Moore
Canopius Group, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, appointed Nadine Moore as CEO of its U.S. business. Based in Chicago, Moore will lead Canopius’ U.S. operations across both its retail and wholesale businesses. Moore will assume leadership of the U.S. business from September 2026, reporting to Group CEO Neil Robertson, and will join the group leadership team.
Moore most recently served as managing director and senior partner at Boston Consulting Group. Over the course of her career, Moore combines the distribution credibility of a placing broker – including producer experience during a senior role at Aon – with a CFO’s understanding of the bottom line. She also brings significant M&A experience to the role, alongside proven delivery of AI initiatives in a regulated insurance environment.
Howden Re Appoints Sogliuzzo as Managing Director, Head of North America Marine, Energy & Terror Specialty Treaty
Howden Re, the global reinsurance, capital markets and strategic advisory business of Howden, headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, appointed Jay Sogliuzzo as managing director, head of North America marine, energy and terror specialty treaty.
Sogliuzzo joins Howden Re with 14 years of underwriting experience, most recently at Gen Re, where he worked across facultative and treaty reinsurance within the marine and energy market. His experience spans upstream energy, ocean marine and inland marine, alongside established relationships with clients and underwriters across North America.
ACORD Solutions Group Announces New Board of Directors
ACORD Solutions Group, a leading provider of digital solutions for the global insurance industry, appointed four new members to its board of directors. The newly appointed directors are:
- Kasey Connors, Executive Director, Big “I” Agents Council for Technology. At ACT, Connors leads industry collaboration focused on advancing technology, improving data quality, and supporting responsible AI adoption across the independent insurance channel. With more than 15 years of experience in association leadership and marketing, she is actively involved in multiple national initiatives that promote collaboration, governance, and practical technology adoption.
- Nidhi Howell, Chief Business Technology Officer, Lockton Re. Howell is a delivery‑focused and commercially aligned technology leader with over 20 years of experience supporting critical technology and transformation programs for global organizations. At Lockton Re, her remit includes shaping technology strategy, overseeing major transformation initiatives, and ensuring technology enables sustainable growth, operational excellence, and effective risk management. Her prior experience includes senior technical and change management roles at Marsh, as well as leadership positions in multiple industry DEI initiatives.
- Christina Lucas, Global Market Leader, Insurance, Google Cloud. Lucas previously served as president of Envista Forensics and global head of industry advisory at Guidewire. Also, he held several senior executive roles at AIG, including global head of claims business performance.
- Spero Zacharias, SVP, Global Information Technology Major Initiatives, Chubb. Zacharias has over three decades of experience in insurance technology, cybersecurity, and related fields. At Chubb, he directs a portfolio of cybersecurity programs supporting operations across 54 countries and all commercial and consumer lines of business. His decades of volunteer service in the ACORD community have included terms as both chair and vice-chair of the acord board of directors.
