How 5280 makes the Top Doctors list
For its annual Top Doctors list, 5280 Magazine asks physicians to nominate other physicians they believe are among the best in their specialties. Candidates are then evaluated based on their qualifications, professional reputation, leadership, and other factors.
“Being recognized by fellow physicians carries special meaning within the medical community,” said Greg Berman, MD, president and executive medical director of the Colorado Permanente Medical Group. “Our patient-centered and mission-driven approach helps us attract and retain talented physicians, which in turn helps us provide high-quality care for our patients.”
What this means for Kaiser Permanente members
For Kaiser Permanente members, the Top Doctors list highlights the expertise available across Kaiser Permanente’s integrated care model. Members can choose from more than 1,200 Kaiser Permanente physicians in Colorado, more than 40 specialty departments, and an extensive network of affiliated providers across the Front Range. Physicians recognized by 5280 are identified with a Top Doctor badge on their photo in their profile on kp.org.
Whether someone needs preventive care or ongoing support for an ongoing condition, Kaiser Permanente physicians and care teams work together across specialties to provide coordinated care. This leads to better outcomes: Kaiser Permanente members are 33% less likely to lose years of life due to heart disease and 20% less likely to lose years of life due to cancer compared to nonmembers in their communities.
“We’re proud to offer our members access to hundreds of Top Doctors as a part of our robust network,” said Cortney Eisses, interim regional president for Kaiser Permanente in Colorado. “These physicians are a big part of making our integrated care and coverage a leading model of high-quality, affordable care.”
