A Texas dentist has retired after 43 years of serving patients, CBS 19 reported Sept. 1.

Jerry Ocker, DDS, first opened his practice in Rusk, Texas, in 1983. A retirement party was held at his dental office Aug. 31 for community members to celebrate Dr. Ocker’s career.

Dr. Ocker plans to spend some time serving patients at a nearby hospital, according to the report.

At the Becker’s 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
