1. Dental technology company Sonendo announced three initiatives to drive its GentleWave business toward cash flow break-even, including a new commercial model, a debt refinancing and operational restructuring.
2. Shanghai-based Angelalign, a clear aligner company, is set to appeal a judgment from a Chinese court in China that ruled in favor of Tempe, Ariz.-based Invisalign manufacturer Align Technology in a patent infringement battle.
3. Charlotte, N.C.-based Dentsply Sirona reported $898 million in net sales for the second quarter of 2026, a 4.1% decline from $936 million in the same period last year.
4. Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker signed a bill that includes several changes to the state’s teledentistry laws.
5. Dr. Oluwabunmi Tokede, a researcher and associate professor at the UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry, was awarded a five-year, $3.54 million grant to develop OpenMouth, an AI-powered research platform.
6. Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health is among the first healthcare organizations to deploy PolyAI’s new direct integration with Epic.
