NEWARK, N.J.—On May 28, Vision Monday debuted a new e-newsletter, titled Nurturing a Healthy Practice, which will be issued twice a month and serves as a practical guide for eyecare professionals in areas including office and practice management, technology, enhancing the patient experience, human resources issues, and more. To provide comprehensive support for eyecare professionals, features in the section will supplement VMAIL and Vision Monday’s ongoing news coverage of practice management and developments across the eyecare, eyewear and vision care space.
The newsletter, connected to a dedicated new landing page on VisionMonday.com, will feature exclusive content organized into three primary sections:
• The Patient Experience: Focusing on engagement, retention, exam lane protocols, and effective communication with diverse patient communities.
• Getting Down to Business: Examining practice technology, innovation, marketing, and regulatory compliance.
• Around the Office: Addressing staff training and retention, back-office logistics, billing, and team-building strategies to create a better practice environment.
The first edition of Nurturing a Healthy Practice featured articles in each of the newsletter’s main categories. The Patient Experience story emphasized the increasing significance of personalized eyecare and its potential to enhance the patient journey. Providing their professional insights on the topic were Heidi Miller, OD, FAAO, FSLS, a lead optometrist at the UC Davis Eye Center in Sacramento, Calif., along with Chandler Mann, OD, the owner of Stone Oak Vision Source in Stone Oak, Texas.
The Getting Down to Business article focused on May’s Healthy Vision Month, incorporating professional perspectives from Chelsey Moore, OD, of Springfield, Illinois’ Prairie Eye Center, and eSight’s director of sales and marketing, Roland Mattern. Together, they detailed the importance of routine annual eye examinations.
The Around the Office feature included a Q&A with Katie Mares, a recruiter and senior account executive at ETS Vision specializing in ophthalmology and optometry. During the interview, Mares offered her perspective on strategies the optical sector can utilize to navigate the ongoing shortage of staff.
