MUMBAI; NAPLES, Fla.; WARREN, N.J.; AMSTERDAM; LONDON—Global pharma company Lupin Limited (Bloomberg: LPCIN) has announced that VISUfarma B.V., a wholly owned subsidiary of Lupin, has inked an exclusive licensing agreement with Visus Therapeutics Inc., U.S.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Tenpoint Therapeutics Holding Limited, granting VISUfarma the exclusive rights to commercialize, market, promote, distribute, and sell Yuvezzi (carbachol and brimonidine tartrate ophthalmic solution) 2.75%/0.1% within the European Union, the U.K., Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. A once-daily, dual-agent eye drop, Yuvezzi is indicated for the treatment of presbyopia in adults.
Under the agreement, VISUfarma will make a strategic investment in Visus, the announcement stated. Tenpoint and Visus will also be eligible to receive regulatory and commercial milestone payments, as well as tiered royalties based on net sales.
Tenpoint, a global commercial-stage ophthalmic pharmaceutical company, is currently advancing commercialization of Yuvezzi in the U.S. following its recent FDA approval. This further expands the reach of Yuvezzi through strategic regional partnerships worldwide, the announcement stated, and Tenpoint has already submitted a marketing authorization application in the U.K. via the country’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency International Recognition Procedure. Tenpoint will continue to execute its plans for regulatory applications for Yuvezzi in other key regions globally.
