Median pay for specialty dentists hits $224K – Becker’s Dental Review

Texas has the highest annual median wage for specialty dentists of any state, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In total, there were five states where the median wage for specialty dentists was more than $240,000.

Below are the annual median wages for specialty dentists for 19 states based on May 2025 salary data published by the bureau. 

Across the U.S., the annual median wage for specialty dentists is $224,990.

The agency updated salary data May 15, 2026, to reflect 2025 information, the latest available.
