Mark Clark.
DUBLIN, Ireland—Ocuco, a leading provider of software for the optical market, has announced the appointment of Mark Clark as sales executive for North America, effective in late July. In this newly created role to support the company’s continued growth in North America with Acuitas 3, the company advised that Clark will also help drive sales and customer growth for other business lines, including Innovations 3 (its newest LMS) and OptiCommerce, which provide website and digital marketing solutions for optical businesses, the announcement stated.
“Mark brings a combination we don’t see often: hands-on lab experience, practice ownership, and digital marketing expertise,” said Dermot Walsh, Ocuco’s chief revenue officer. “That’s exactly the perspective we need as we accelerate our U.S. product strategy. He’s sat on both sides of the sales conversation, which means he knows exactly what adds value for a practice or lab.”
In making the announcement, Ocuco lauded Clark’s experience saying he brings more than two decades of experience across the optical industry, spanning laboratory operations, practice ownership, territory sales, consulting, and digital solutions leadership.
“At Ocuco, that breadth covers both of his focus areas: his background in digital marketing and website strategy applies directly to OptiCommerce, while his lab operations experience informs his work on Innovations 3,” the company said.
“It’s rare to find a company with both software and marketing expertise, and it is nearly impossible to find one that specializes only in the eyecare market,” said Clark. “I am extremely excited to offer such expansive, yet cohesive solutions to the eyecare community through the Ocuco portfolio.”
In previous roles, Clark has launched optical e-commerce brands, managed the development of a virtual try-on software program, and led high impact digital marketing campaigns. He holds a doctor of arts in organizational leadership from Capella University, and an MBA and bachelor of science in healthcare management, both from Western Governors University.
“Clark’s appointment strengthens Ocuco’s sales presence in North America as the company continues to expand across the region,” the company said.
