DUNFERMLINE, U.K.—Optos, a retinal imaging technology company, has announced the appointment of Alexandre Montague as chief executive officer, effective immediately. Montague, who succeeds Rob Kennedy as CEO, brings nearly 25 years of global healthcare, ophthalmology, and vision care leadership experience to the new position. He most recently served as CEO of Hoya Vision Care, where he led a global organization spanning 20,000 employees and operations across 35 subsidiaries worldwide, the announcement said. Montague left Hoya on April 1, 2025, after five years with the company.
Prior to Hoya, he held senior leadership positions at Essilor and Zeiss, building expertise across ophthalmic devices, optics, vision care, and medical technology. According to Optos, Montague has built a global career dedicated to enabling organizations to grow through innovation, a customer-centric approach, and high-performing teams.
Throughout his career, Montague has also championed innovation and long-term approaches to vision health, including leadership in myopia management and preventive care, the announcement stated.
