NEW YORK—Pearle Vision, a leading national eyecare and optical retail franchise, announced it has acquired West Point Optical Group, its largest franchisee with 90 Pearle Vision eyecare centers across the United States. Founded by entrepreneur Bill Noble, West Point Optical Group has been part of Pearle Vision’s franchisee network since 2014 and has helped to build the brand’s equity nationwide, the company stated. When its founder expressed an interest in selling West Point Optical Group, Pearle Vision noted, the company wanted to ensure the eyecare centers stayed “within the Pearle Vision family, where they could continue to offer patients and customers the highest level of optical and service.”
“As Pearle Vision continues to prove its strengths, adaptability and brand equity in a fast-changing market, we’re thrilled to welcome West Point Optical Group and its affiliated optometrists, where they will provide an expanded network of trusted doctors and greater scale for our med-tech aspirations,” said Gunjan Kumar, president of Pearle Vision. “At the same time, Pearle Vision’s ambitions as a leading healthcare franchisor remain strong with our franchised eyecare centers making up nearly 65 percent of the portfolio. By cultivating a diversified mix of both franchise and corporate-owned eyecare centers, we continue to meet the growing needs of the optical market.”
Pearle Vision recently opened new eyecare centers in Texas, Georgia and Alberta, Canada, bringing new innovations to its patients, including Stellest lenses, and earning Entrepreneur magazine’s number one spot in the eyecare franchise category for the sixth year in a row, the company noted.
“I am incredibly proud of the business that Lauralee and I have built at West Point Optical Group (WPOG) over the past 12 years,” said Noble. “We’ve grown from 10 locations in Ohio to 90 locations across 13 states over that time and most importantly built a legacy of relationships with WPOG associates that will last a lifetime. The WPOG board, investors and I are tremendously excited for the future growth opportunities that Pearle Vision will create.”
In October of last year, Pearle Vision announced the launch of a new store design, built to meet the evolving needs and preferences of consumers and franchisees alike, the company said at the time. More recently, in February of 2026, Pearle Vision announced the celebration of a landmark achievement this year, marking the 65th anniversary of its founding by Dr. Stanley Pearle. Established in 1961, the company is now part of EssilorLuxottica and supports over 540 eyecare centers through a franchise network.
