Joachim Froment.
PARIS—Silmo Paris has announced Joachim Froment as president of the Silmo d’Or Jury for 2026. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in London, Froment began his career in Copenhagen before co-founding Futurewave, a design and technology studio that collaborates with global leaders including Renault, LVMH, Richemont and tech companies, show organizers said. He is the recipient of several international distinctions including the iF Design Awards, Good Design Awards and Core 77 Awards, the announcement said.
Froment is known for his creative language “that is at once forward-looking, sculptural and sensitive, guided by the principle of ‘Agape,’ where human experience and the future of our ecosystem coexist with elegance,” said Silmo show organizers. He focuses on creating an “ecosystemic” approach to design, where products are conceived as links within a circular system. His creations have included furniture, lighting, consumer electronics and more, all driven by the aim of deepening the connection between the user, the object and its environment.
“Through this presidency, the Silmo d’Or continues its ambition to explore creative territories where innovation, usage and emotion engage with the major transformations shaping today’s world,” show organizers said. “Joachim Froment’s cross-disciplinary perspective, at the intersection of design, technology and human experience, will accompany an edition focused on creations that push the boundaries of innovation and shape the uses of tomorrow for contemporary optics.”
Silmo Paris 2026 will take place from September 25 through 28 at Paris Nord Villepinte. Registration is open online here.
